Up to 50 new "Appearances" will arrive with the update, meaning everything from "Ahch-To Rey" to "Wounded Chewie" will start popping up as well.
The new mode is called Ewok Hunt and recreates the Battle of Endor. The set-up for the mode sounds like the the Ewoks will be defending their home of Endor in a nighttime ambush of the Stormtroopers that have invaded their land. The limited-time mode that we mentioned before is Ewok Hunt, and it involves clearing out a platoon of Stormtroopers or holding out against an extremely punishing Ewok assault. When someone playing one of the Empire's foot soldiers dies, they rejoin the game as an Ewok, whittling down the survivors until they're all eliminated or they last long enough to be extracted.
Players might remember that the original version of Battlefront 2 by Pandemic Studios had a "Hunt" mode, where players could take control of the native species of planets like Endor, Kashyyyk, and Naboo. The update is also set to roll out the first wave of cosmetic appearances that are available via the re-worked microtransactions model.
