We have to continue working on this aspect to reach the finals. Roma were superior. They passed us by.
RMC report tonight that Barcelona intend to sign French worldwide attacker Antoine Griezmann this summer, but only after the 1st of July, when a clause in his Atletico Madrid contract comes into effect which sees his release clause drop from €200m to €100m.
Although Atleti boss Diego Simeone denied that was the case, Griezmann - who is said to have a €100 million (A$158.85 million) release clause in his contract - is expected to resolve his future before the 2018 FIFA World Cup begins in June.
A few days back, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu admitted that he held talks with Griezmann's representatives in October regarding a possible deal.He said: "I saw Griezmann one day on holiday".
Constant rumors about his potential departure have made them restless and it was quite evident in the recent statement by the club's CEO Miguel Angel Gil Martin on the official website [via Goal.com].
However, Cerezo accepts the club could be forced to sell the France forward if he decides he wants to move to Barcelona, or elsewhere. Gil Marin believes their pursuit of Griezmann was also an attempt to unsettle the team and ultimately derail their hopes of challenging for the league.
Cardiff City seal automatic promotion to Premier League
There was another one after full time, when Cardiff's Malaysian owner, Vincent Tan , was carried on the shoulders of fans. Cardiff didn't so much win promotion to the Premier League , as were gifted it by a poor performance in Birmingham .
He added he had warned Bartomeu that Atletico would demand compensation for Barcelona's "inappropriate behaviour" if Griezmann sought to cancel his contract under pressure from the Catalan side.
"Enough is enough. I hope this statement serves its objective and that us Atletico fans can enjoy this moment and prepare ourselves for a final like we should", the statement concluded.
"Antoine Griezmann is a player of Atletico Madrid and the future has to be decided by him".
Griezmann was initially linked with Barca a year ago as a possible replacement for Neymar, who joined Paris Saint-Germain for a world-record fee of €222 million (A$352.7 million).
"I can tell you one thing: Antoine Griezmann is an Atletico Madrid player as of today. I'm sorry but I think we have to be cautious about players who don't play for us".
