A woman who climbed the Statue of Liberty on Independence Day, leading to all tourists being evacuated, is now in police custody.
But members of the group said they had no idea she was going to scale the statue that day.
The protestor scaling the base of the famed monument was caught and rescued by federal Park Police at around 5:30 Wednesday evening.
