It said it implemented its food-safety-response protocols, which include replacing the food and cleaning the restaurant.
"We acted quickly and closed this single restaurant out of an abundance of caution and we are working with the local health officials to reopen this restaurant as soon as possible", a Chipotle spokeswoman said.

Chipotle closed a restaurant in Powell, Ohio, on Monday following reports that customers got sick after eating there. Results from test were pending, the health department said. County health officials said in a statement on Tuesday that the number of people who have reported getting ill at the restaurant has jumped to 368.

"Chipotle is a special case, because they were the source of so many cases in such a short amount of time", Ben Chapman, an associate professor and food safety extension specialist at North Carolina State University, told CBS MoneyWatch.
"In most situations this would be a horrifying kiss of death, but with Chipotle it is baked into the brand's story", said Eric Schiffer, CEO at Reputation Management Consultants.
Chipotle is also using ozone treatment to help with sanitizing, and the report said that the restaurant does a daily employee health check to ensure no workers are experiencing symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea or nausea.
As for the stock, the drop in it isn't that shocking, because Chipotle has had a big price rally in the past few months, much of which was likely fueled by short covering.
The website saw a surge in reports following Business Insider's report late Monday that the company had shut down the restaurant due to customer illness reports.
