Offering the traditional hype of making a sequel that is bigger and more badarse than the game it follows, today the makers of the forthcoming Doom Eternal showed the game in action to the public for the first time.
The gameplay footage also showed the Doom Guy picking up an extra life, which is something that the team did not expand on during the presentation but is worth keeping an eye on.
According to developer id, it will have twice the amount of monsters and will debut at QuakeCon this August.
As the footage has not been uploaded to YouTube separately just yet, the above video of the QuakeCon livestream will have to suffice for now. With a new, much more badass armor set, new guns, and tools like a grappling hook and a blade attached to his arm, The Doom Slayer is more than well-equipped for the fight. "So we're already planning that and I'm looking forward to it.[We want to give] people more reasons to come back, whether it's Invasion or DLC, it's really important to us".
The winners and losers in the Premier League transfer window
To cap it all, they announced that Jamie Vardy has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until he is 35. The deadline was moved from 31 August to the day before the Premier League season starts after a vote by clubs.
And of course, that fantastic Mick Gordon soundtrack keeps you going as you blast through the game. Todd Howard appeared on stage during the Xbox press conference and revealed Fallout 76 is an online multiplayer game that tasks players with rebuilding the Wasteland. This should remind old-school fans of Doom II: Hell on Earth.
One feature that the game will offer, though unsure if it will happen in the Switch version yet, is that you can invade the game of other DOOM Eternal players, but they can also invade yours.
There was also confirmation that Doom Eternal will also release on Nintendo Switch. During the following few minutes where Doomslayer stomps his way through Phobos, we're even able to see a bit of the gradual damage that can be inflicted on demons as we're able to chip away and blow armour chunks off of them before dealing the death blow. DOOM Eternal's "destructible demons" system takes your power fantasy to new levels by ensuring that every trigger pull has never felt better.
