The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 are available for pre-order today, and will ship on September 20. That's when President and CEO Jensen Huang takes the stage for a presentation that Nvidia says "will be loaded with exclusive, hands-on demos running on the hottest upcoming games, presentations from some of the world's biggest game developers and some spectacular surprises".
In India, listings for four Zotac GeForce RTX graphics cards have appeared online with prices starting at Rs. 70,990 for a GeForce RTX 2080 with a basic blower-style cooler, and going up to Rs. 1,09,990 for a triple-fan overclocked Amp Edition version of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti.
Leaks suggest we'll see the new RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080.
We saw several of these demos at Nvidia's RTX Series launch event, and even got to play and capture a couple of the games in question with the settings cranked up and the new technology on show. Nvidia's RTX technology adds new ray-tracing cores for high-quality, real-time rendering with global illumination, and the Tensor cores will speed up creating image detail quickly where there's none. The new Turning GPU architecture along with the new NVIDIA RTX platform is able to run up to 6X the performance of previous-generation GPUs and enables the power of real-time ray tracing along with powerful artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning enhanced graphics. Lights interact and blend with each other in real time in a highly realistic fashion, and shadows are cast in a more natural way, with shadows appearing smoother when ray tracing is enabled. That new nomenclature is a nod to the ray-tracing capabilities of the new Turing architecture. That task was hard to do well in the past, Huang said in his presentation.
Despite all the talk of ray tracing, the effect can be pretty subtle.

The difficulty is that the latest Tomb Raider looks great at 4K, with richly detailed textures; with your $999 graphics card do you really want to be playing games at 1080p any more? There is a more tangible difference in the fidelity of the gameworld with the RTX reflections that DICE is using in its Nvidia-specific build of the new multiplayer shooter.
The new Turing GPUs are all about the potential of adding real-time ray tracing into our PC games, but how well can the new gaming GPUs handle the demands of ray tracing? Other titles slated to support ray tracing include MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries and Atomic Heart, among others, with more to come, the company said.
"The new Obelisk desktop features a large side window, tool-free removal of up to 3.5" drives, capacity for a full-length graphics card, and for using an industry-standard ATX power supply.
