Trump also said he was surprised Kavanaugh has been so open about his beer drinking, one area Democrats are planning to focus on as they question whether the nominee was fully truthful in his testimony before the Senate.
A person familiar with the matter said the Federal Bureau of Investigation questioned Deborah Ramirez, who has said Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at a party when both were Yale University students. He defended Kavanaugh, lamenting "What he's gone through" since the allegations surfaced.

The one question I didn't ask is how about the last 20 years? 'I don't know. I don't know. "That's the only thing I remember", he said as he harshly mimicked her. "Don't drink.' At a campaign rally later in Mississippi, Trump pretended to be a son asking his mother how to respond to such an accusation.
In his warning, Mr Trump echoed some of his allies. The way he sees it, a man can be "perfect" his whole life, but is now suddenly labeled "guilty" the second he's accused of something. He is young enough, 53, that he could shape American jurisprudence for decades to come. "But this is no country at all".
However, Hawley said he doesn't believe there is any evidence to support her claims. "I truly admire Judge Kavanaugh's determination -along with that of his family - to not quit in the face of the outrageous accusations that have been leveled against him".
After the shocking mockery, Trump went on to defend Kavanuagh by saying his life was "shattered" from Dr. Ford's claims.
Kavanaugh's confirmation continues to hang in the balance as the FBI investigates the allegation, which Kavanaugh has forcefully denied.
