Arguably the biggest new feature is the Your Phone App, which can be used to link an Android phone with a PC to get access to your photos and texts quickly and easily.
That's not all for Windows-related gaming fun times, either, as Microsoft are also taking the opportunity to introduce a new-look Game Bar as well (which, if you've got it turned on, lets you record clips, screenshots and broadcast your game using Microsoft's various gaming tools). You'll also be able to send SMS texts and group messages while typing on a keyboard using Your Phone, as you can now receive texts on your device and on the PC as well.
A new app called Your Phone offers functionality similar to what OSX provides iPhone and iPad users in the Apple ecosystem. However, it isn't yet clear if Microsoft will be adding more features for iOS users.
Generally speaking, if you have automatic updates installed, the Windows 10 October 2018 update will start going out in waves on October 9. The main new feature here is encompassed by the Your Phone app.
