Wearing a red "Make America Great Again" hat, he repeatedly complimented Trump, who nodded in agreement.
"Let's stop worrying about the future, all we have is today", West said, commenting on his own presidential ambitions.
At least Trump handled West's bad idea. dare I say, gracefully?
"He can speak for me anytime he wants", Trump said, gratefully.
West's first visit to Mr Trump was at his eponymous Manhattan skyscraper in 2016, a month after he won the election, but this was the rapper's first trip to the White House.
Trump and West sat down for a private dining room lunch of caprese salad with balsamic glaze along with roasted chicken with fingerling potatoes and sautéed asparagus. "He might not have thought he'd have a insane motherf-- like [me]" as an ally.
"I brought a GIF with me right here", West said in the Oval Office on Thursday during a meeting as he turned his phone over to the president.
"You think racism can control me?"

The European Commission has urged the Bulgarian authorities to bring to justice those responsible for the killing. Viktoria Marinova , 30, was discovered in a park in Ruse, a town near the River Danube, on Saturday, Oct. 6.
As expected, he made sure to gush over Trump, defended his right to be conservative despite his race and yelled at reporters that Trump is not racist and saying that 'I love this guy, ' before standing up to give the president a big hug. "He looked at my brain", West said.
The club shared an image of the typically straight faced Kanye West, with the caption: 'The global break has got us like'. But West had a caveat: "Only after 2024", he said.
"We don't have the reparations but we have the 13th Amendment", he said of the amendment that abolished slavery in 1865. West called the president's work on criminal justice reform (an issue close to wife Kim Kardashian's heart) "bravery".
"The problem is illegal guns, not legal guns", West responded. "And we met, and I just appreciate it very much".
West bragged about having "the balls to put on this hat" when he appeared on Saturday Night Live, adding, "What I need Saturday Night Live to improve on, the liberals to improve on - if he don't look good we don't looks good, this is our president!" pointing to Trump. It's lovely though! But there's times where, you know, it's something about - I love Hillary.
"There's a whole lot of people in this country that do give you a lot of credit for everything you've been doing for this country", he said.
Kanye has drawn fire from other celebrities over his support of Trump, the former reality TV star now looking ahead to congressional elections on November 6 and his own re-election campaign in 2020.
