Knickers will live out his life in Pearson's fields in Lake Preston, southwest of Perth.

The goal was to have him as a "coach" - a steer that leads other cattle, according to BBC. Last Week Tonight writer Josh Gondelman sees Knickers as the hero we deserve at the moment.

While Knickers is undoubtedly larger than your average steer - a neutered male - the video images are somewhat misleading.

'He was always a standout who stood above the rest.

However, after a while with the steer continuing to grow, Pearson has now discovered Knickers is just too big to sell.

What's going on: A steer in Australia is getting press for reportedly being too big to kill.

Mr Pearson said: "The other cattle look up to him, wherever he goes, they go".

Still, Knickers' impressive size has garnered him global attention, leading many to wonder what fate may befall the behemoth bovine. He's a hit with the other cattle, who follow him around the paddocks in their hundreds.

As for Knickers, he'll need a hell of a lot of cow-moo-flage to hide in plain sight.

But as impressive as he is, Knickers isn't the largest cow in the world.

According to Guinness World Records, the tallest steer on the planet can be found in Italy - a 202cm Chianina ox named Bellino.

She said: "Damn that is one huge cow".

But what Knickers lacks in size, he makes up for in sheer steer popularity, based on the reaction from the internet.

He's enormous - standing at 6 feet, four inches and weighing 1.4 tons.
