Initially the new Austin Apple will be created to accommodate 5,000 employees, with the possibility to grow to up to 15,000 employees, the company says. Its new campus will be located less than one mile away from Apple's existing offices.
The tech giant, which is based in Cupertino, Calif., says the new campus in Austin will start with 5,000 employees.
At 6,200 employees, Apple's existing Austin facilities are the largest outside of its headquarters in Cupertino. It even plans to expand across Pittsburgh, New York and Boulder, Colorado in the coming three years, creating an enormous number of jobs.
Apple said it has added about 6,000 jobs to the US workforce in 2018 and remains well on track to achieve its target of adding 20,000 jobs domestically by 2023.
While much of the $250 billion overseas profits has been earmarked for buying back company stock and paying higher shareholder dividends, Apple pledged in January to finance more than $30 billion in capital expenditures in the USA over the next five years. A recent report by Yardi Systems Inc. pegged Apple as one of Austin's largest office landlords with ownership of 725,000 square feet.
Apple already leases office space in the Cambridge Innovation Center, where a team works on the company's Siri speech recognition software. "W$3 ith this new expansion, we're redoubling our commitment to cultivating the high-tech sector and workforce nationwide". After many small cities spent millions to lure the company, it went with New York City and the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC. There are now 90,000 Apple employees across the United States.

Sure, a company can hype up its operations management and turn what are basically logistics decisions into a real-life reality show, but in just presenting its final decision to the public, Apple is proving it is the Beyonce of tech companies.
The company said the move could eventually create 15,000 jobs at the 133-acre development, the Wall Street Journal reported.
"This makes Apple Austin's largest employer and we're incredibly proud of that", said Deirdre O'Brien, Apple vice president of people.
Apple's also planning to invest $10 billion to build data centers in the United States in the next five years.
