Elizabeth Warren on Thursday for claiming she is of Native American heritage.
Warren has been an emerging national figure for more than a decade as an advocate for consumer protection, now a senator and a regular target of President Donald Trump. "Underneath her name was 1/2020th".
With the the launch of a presidential exploratory committee on Monday, she effectively kicked off the 2020 primary more than 13 months before caucusgoers in Iowa will begin casting their votes.
"I'd like to see how she deals with people one-on-one, that interaction between her and regular folks", said Jan Bauer, the Story County Democratic chairwoman, who planned to attend the private event with Warren Saturday.
"I think this is a moment for all of the Democratic nominees to come into the race to say, 'In a Democratic primary we are going to link arms and we're going to say grassroots funding".
Trump meme'd hard on Warren via Twitter earlier in the day for her phony claim of Native heritage, which was essentially debunked by Warren herself late previous year.

Warren's willingness to take on Trump in Twitter tangles and pointed public speeches could give some voters additional pause.
"If you believe that government out to work for all of us, then I think that's what the democratic party should be all about", Warren said to cheers.
"They were already attacking her before she even ran because everybody suspected she was going to run anyway", Smith said -- and if getting out early helps Warren fundraise, "power to her".
"Elizabeth Warren seems more like a chardonnay senator than a beer senator", said Tobe Berkovitz, a Boston University politics professor and longtime Democratic communications specialist.
Just before speaking, the power went out at McCoy's Bar, Patio and Grill, leaving Warren to speak in the dark. 'Hold on a second - I'm gonna get me a beer, ' she said, stepping out of frame. She was responding to a young woman who said she'd arrived in the country as a refugee and wanted to know Warren's policy recommendations for immigration reform.
