There are a lot of big releases this week and this may divert attention from The Accidental Prime Minister.
A day before Delhi High Court hears a plea seeking a stay on the trailer of the upcoming Bollywood movie "The Accidental Prime Minister", a local court in Bihar on Tuesday ordered lodging of an FIR against actors Anupam Kher, Akshaye Khanna and 15 others associated with the movie.
Actor Anupam Kher plays the role of Manmohan Singh while Akshaye Khanna is seen in the role of Singh's media advisor Sanjaya Baru in the movie, which is based on a book by the same name authored by Baru and published in 2014. If there is a movie on Accidental Prime Minister then there should be a movie Disastrous Prime Minister. The film hit the screens on Friday.
It further claimed that it "seems that film makers, producers have made an attempt to make commercial gains and the act of "impersonation" have been committed deliberately to defame the office of Prime Minister just to hype the excitement amongst the prospective viewers".
Unredacted Manafort filing hints at Russian Federation collusion
Manafort provided "complete and truthful information to the best of his ability", the lawyers wrote in the 10-page filing. Manafort also was convicted last summer of financial crimes in a Virginia trial just outside Washington.
Ramandeep Singh, president of Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi, Youth Wing, said that such films are a "serious attack on the minorities by the anti-minority forces such as RSS".
Earlier this week, Anupam Kher also shared a time-lapse video of his make-up session and wrote in the caption: "Making of Dr Manmohan Singh: This is a 20-sec time lapse video of a two hour job done by my great make and wardrobe team".
"The way public figures are portrayed in the film presents a poor image of the country as well", the advocate said in his complaint, reported The Hindu.
