The lawyer and worldwide law expert was appointed Venezuelan ambassador to Brazil by opposition leader Juan Guaidó, who has been recognised by dozens of countries as the head of Venezuela's legitimate government instead of leftist President Nicolas Maduro. The U.S.is calling for elections in Venezuela and for global aid deliveries to be allowed to enter the country.
Several tons of medicine, food and basic items have been stocked since Thursday in Cucuta, close to the border crossing point of Tienditas which Venezuelan soldiers have blocked with freight containers.
A drop in energy prices, corruption, and failed socialist policies have destroyed the oil-rich Venezuelan economy, leaving severe shortages of food and medicine and out-of-control inflation. Venezuela's military last week barricaded a key bridge between Venezuela and Colombia in an apparent attempt to keep the humanitarian aid from entering.
"Get out Donald Trump, get out his threats!", Maduro said.
President Nicolas Maduro has vowed not to let the supplies pass, saying Venezuela isn't a nation of beggars. Guaido did not specify from where aid would enter, but said the opposition would go in a convoy to safeguard the supplies. "This is a crime against humanity, men of the armed forces", Juan Guaido said.
The militia is a civilian force founded in 2008 to supplement the armed forces. "We have spoken very clearly and we are on a road of hope, of change that is getting closer", he said.

On the investigation that the Venezuelan Comptroller announced it would open for alleged global resources received, Guaido said that "an absolutely deteriorated regime with no credibility does not have any authority or legitimacy to speak after they have stolen all the money".

However, he stressed that in order to be impartial, holding elections will take time. "We want and are working for this to be as peaceful, least traumatizing and as quick as possible". We do not now have any electoral mechanism that works because everything has been tarnished by fraud.
Venezuela's financial accountability authority announced a probe into Guaido's income on Monday, saying he had "allegedly. received money from worldwide and national bodies without any justification".
"There are many Venezuelans in Israel and many Jews in Venezuela", Guaido said.
The latter signaled he is ready to have a face-to-face with his opponents in case they needed to be heard by the government, but the opposition chose to neglect the offer, "probably because they are guided by the US", Sergey Lavrov commented on Tuesday.
Last week, he also rejected a call by European Union countries to hold elections, prompting them to recognize Guaido.
