Almost four decades after he had appeared on the Morecambe and Wise Show, the celebrated composer and conductor André Previn was still not allowed to forget the brilliant send-up sketch in which he kept being mistakenly called "Mr Andrew Preview".
The New York Times reports Previn is survived by his daughters Claudia and Alicia, who he had with his first wife, Betty Bennet; daughter Lovely Previn, who he had with his second wife, Dory Langan; and his children Matthew, Sascha, and Fletcher, who he had with third wife, Mia Farrow. Previn also won an Academy Award for best music for Gigi in 1958 and in 1959 he won the same award for Porgy & Bess.
The Recording Academy, which puts on the Grammy awards gala, praised Previn's "ability to effortlessly combine genres".
The musical legend was also well-known in the 1960s for having his name in the gossip pages when his affair with Mia Farrow led them to both leave their respective spouses (in Farrow's case, her high profile marriage to Frank Sinatra) for each other. He also wrote the score for Tom Stoppard's 1977 play, EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVES FAVOUR, which was performed for eight performances with full orchestra at the Metropolitan Opera House in July and August 1979. He won Grammys for Gigi, and two years later for best jazz performance for selections from "West Side Story". But his biggest legacy will be his leadership of symphonies across the globe in a long and illustrious career as a conductor.

Barca coach Ernesto Valverde was happy to make the final but admitted improvements will be needed ahead of the weekend's rematch. They robbed the ball back quickly and we didn't get into our rhythm. "He has a sense for where the goal is".
Previn also adopted three children with Farrow, including a daughter Soon-Yi, who in 1997 Wednesday film director Woody Allen.
Previn's discography contains hundreds of recordings in film, jazz, classical music and contemporary classical music.
Previn was born in Berlin on April 6, 1929. "May you rest in glorious symphonies". Previn and Bennett divorced in 1957. Farrow and Previn married in 1970 and divorced in 1979. He had previously written her a violin concerto in 1999, but they did not marry until 2002.
