According to the 204-page document, actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman are among 33 parents who bribed college coaches and standardised test-takers with millions of dollars in order to get their children into elite universities. The indictment says Huffman's daughter received a score of 1420 on her SAT ... an improvement of approximately 400 points over her PSAT.
The alleged crimes, according to officials, involved cheating on entrance exams, as well as bribing college officials and coaches to say certain students were coming to compete on athletic teams when those students were not in fact athletes.
Martin Fox, 62, the president of a private tennis academy and camp in Houston, is accused of introducing Singer to Center and of arranging similar bribes on two occasions with varsity coaches at the University of San Diego. In both Loughlin and Huffman's cases, authorities told ABC that they have written and audio proof of the actresses' participation in the scheme.
- The consultant, William "Rick" Singer of Newport Beach, California pleaded guilty in Boston federal court on Tuesday to charges including racketeering conspiracy and obstruction of justice. Secondly, the organization allegedly bribed college coaches to help admit the students into college as recruited athletes, regardless of their actual ability, prosecutors said. As a part of his guilty plea, Singer said he would pay at least $3.4 million to the feds, The Boston Globe reports.
University of Southern California said of the alleged scheme: "We are aware of the ongoing wide-ranging criminal investigation involving universities nationwide, including USC".
Between 2011 to 2018, Singer would charge from $100,000 to as much as $2.5 million per child for the services, which were masked as contributions to a scam charity - Key Worldwide Foundation - that he ran. This man would request money from parents that would then be given to SAT, ACT proctors, and or college athletic coaches to influence a student's admission into schools.

That part is key for FSU, which had been dangerously thin at the position after dismissing starter Deondre Francois last month. Hornibroook, who started the last three seasons for the Badgers, has one year of eligibility remaining.
U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling said at a press conference Tuesday that in other instances students faces were edited into photos of athletes.
The former head coach of Yale University's women's soccer team conspired with Singer to accept bribes in exchange for designating Yale applicants as recruits for the team, according to a court filing.
John Wilson was indicted in the Southern District of Texas for conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, the Justice Department said.
"There can be no separate college admission for the wealthy", Lelling said, adding that "honest, genuinely talented students were rejected". But Singer and the coaches knew that the student was not a competitive player, and that his or her athletic profile was fake, an indictment said.
