Google has released the first official cut of 2019's Android to developers, including a secret "desktop mode" for external displays, and support for pholdables*. If you have upgraded to first Android Q beta with/without forced night mode on Android pie, you can still toggle Dark mode manually with ADB. If approved, they'd be able to access it even when the app was not in use.
